Introduction Sonoma County resident, married, with 1 daughter, 2 grandsons, 1 step-son and 3 step-grandchildren. Born in the segregated South, where the experiences and struggles I witnessed there for basic human rights, laid the framework for my political and social consciousness and activism. Spent several eye-opening years in the Air Force in Europe. Ended up in Oakland, CA - while attending college, I met Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton. In 1966, became one of the original 6 founding members of the Black Panther Party. First editor of the Black Panther Party Newspaper, traveled the world as Deputy Minister of Information and International Spokesperson for the BPP. Established and administrated an educational program at Merritt College (Grove St College) for ex-offenders, as well as a campus community medical clinic. In 1974, returned to Tennessee, where I worked for decades as a retail service manager and remained a community activist. World traveler, author, lecturer, political educator,life-long community and human rights activist. Life-long lover of Jazz and Blues. It gives me great fulfillment and joy to have the opportunity to share the music I have always loved with all of you.
