Introduction On May 30, 2010 I got the surprise of my life. I had a heart attack. This was after a year spent changing the way I lived my life. By that date I had lost 70 lbs, I was walking an hour to an hour and a half a day, I was walking 7 flights of stairs every day, and I was doing a 30 min stretching routine several times a week. I thought I was doing all the right things to protect my heart and then… I went through a period of thinking “Why bother?” but then I broke my ankle and had to have surgery and rehab. In rehab I learned why bother. I saw what happened to those who hadn’t taken care of themselves and I picked myself up and got back on track. This blog is my continuing story of how I am getting stronger every day – one step at a time.
