About Me

This summer I have the opportunity to work for United Way of Lancaster County, particularly with Lenny Walton and the Community Impact Team to focus on homelessness in Lancaster county. I am one of nine Public Service Summer Interns (PSSI) from the Ware Institute at Franklin & Marshall College that goes into Lancaster city to learn more about the nonprofit sector and Lancaster city as a whole (all of these people are doing AMAZING work as well!). The Community Impact Team of United Way is working with the services around Lancaster county towards ENDING homelessness-- this requires finding proper employment and housing for those already homeless, and preventing individuals from falling through the cracks in the first place. This summer I am getting a first hand perspective of the system, the people, and the services that come together to influence the status of homelessness in Lancaster county!
