About me

Introduction I'm a PhD candidate in Literary Studies in the English Department at Purdue University. I study medieval literature, most specifically how people in the Middle Ages wrote about science and technology for non-technical audiences and how that writing influenced the model of reality that we see represented in literary works of the time. Right now I'm focusing on astronomy texts.

In this blog I will write about the progress I'm making on my dissertation, any interesting things I read that I can't use in my dissertation, and matters of science education, especially the ongoing conversation over whether we should just scrap science education altogether and use the time to advance whatever religious agenda happens to be the hardest to get away from at the moment.
