Introduction | The picture is of my grandson, Daniel Birkner. I was born in 1956. Joined the LDS church in 1975. Married Neil Logan in the Los Angeles Temple in 1978. Gave birth to my first child 7 1/2 months later in 1979. He was premature, lived in the hospital for 8 weeks, and died in my arms, while Neil held me. We were told that all babies would be early, all would die, and we shouldn't have any more. So, I went to bed early each pregnancy, and Neil took over for me in the home. As a result, I have nine living children, three sons, and six daughters. These children were born in 1980, 82, 84, 86, 88, 91, 93, 95, and 1998. My oldest son served a mission to Seattle Washington. My second son is now serving a mission in Everett Washington. My youngest son is 17 and preparing for his future mission. My four oldest have married, each in the temple to incredible companions. I have two grandchildren and one on the way. There is a lot I can say about myself after 51 years of life. Things like being a writer, a personal and family communications expert, a public speaker, a genealogist specialising in 1800 America. But nothing I say tells it like knowing that I'm a mother. |
