Introduction I have been painting in the beautiful valley of the River Don for almost 30 years. The ever changing light, the seasons and weather provide much for me to paint. Sometimes the view can be dramatic as when the river floods. Colourful narrow-boats, small cruisers and huge Humber barges pass my door moving both up and downstream through Sprotbrough lock. The local area is rich in history. Sir Walter Scott was inspired to write his novel ' Ivanhoe' after passing through on his way to Scotland and the castle of Conisborough, which features in the novel, is just upstream. There have been many changes in the scenery over the years and I have enjoyed painting some of them.
Interests The Don Gorge and Sprotbrough Flash Nature Reserve YWT. Painting, Gardening, Photography, Reading.
