About me

Introduction I’m a stay-at-home mom of two, and sewing is my passion. If I could do it all day, I would ... and sometimes do! I’ve wanted to sew for as long as I can remember. My first project was a hand-sewn penny bag made at such a young age (after a short lesson from Grandma) I can hardly remember working on it. Exactly when I learned to use a sewing machine is a bit foggy, but it was probably around the age of twelve of thirteen, having decided to stitch my own costume that year. By nineteen my mother had taught me to quilt. I still quilt now—it’s what I do most often—but my sewing interests have started to branch off in new directions. I’ve developed an interest in repairing and using vintage sewing machines and attachments. And I’m starting to use my sewing talent (and need to create) to make table coverings, creative knee patches for my kids’ jeans, and to reupholster thrift store finds.
