| Introduction | I had an earlier life as a geologist but I now run a small organic veg-growing farm, both to supply veg to local people and to attempt to set an example of sustainable living. I try to practise what I preach and have built an eco-cottage on my farm and added a large conservatory to the farmhouse. This picks up so much warmth from the sun that heating bills in the once-cold house are slashed. Recently, my wife and I added the final items in our bid for carbon neutrality with an air source heat pump and a grid-connected photovoltaic 'power station'. |
