About Me

I'm a Melbourne boy with one ex, a current wife and four kids. Got into cooking early, at 16 announcing that I wanted to be chef...and was promptly kicked out of home. Lasted six months, but unable to start a cooking career and support myself, returned home to enter the family business. Cooking, though, continued unabated, started writing about it and was lucky enough to have some articles published. Did some part-time work in a big commercial kitchen and learned of the gulf between homecooks and professional chefs.
