| Introduction | I started quilting after I retired from my career job as a geographer and IT manager at the end of 2010. I was drawn by the beautiful fabrics, the challenge of learning new skills and the satisfaction of creating things with my hands. I've been sewing since I was a child, and enjoy all kinds of needlework, but this was all new to me. I decided to start A Quilter's Path to record the things I'm learning as I gain experience. I hope that other new quilters will share their experiences, too, so we can enjoy our journey together. In my second year of quilting, I want to master my new quilt design software, make a mosaic quilt and improve my free-motion quilting. Ambitious for a novice, but that's the fun! |
