About Me
Hello, my name is Vena and I'm the woman behind the torch creating the Haute Beadz. I'm self taught at the art of lampworking. Lampworking is a type of glasswork that uses a gas fueled torch to melt rods and tubes of clear and colored glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with a variety of tools and hand movements. I started 4 years ago by studying books and watching videos. I've spent hundreds of hours at the torch working with glass. Glass is a wild medium to work with. It has a mind of its own and it can never be completely tamed. These characteristics keep me intrigued and coming back to play in the fire so I can create little pieces of art for you to collect and wear.
