| Introduction | In Chinese & Tibetan astrology, I was born in the year of the Rooster, so here I sit, crowing for everyone to hear. My daughter was born in the year of the dog, and she would be of the sheepdog variety, forever rounding us up and herding us into her corner for her never-ceasing oration. Dear son was born in the year of the Iron-dragon, also of note he is a Leo lion, He has Asperger's so he often has to find his strength and can be a fire-breathing, roaring, commanding little being. There are also two placid cats who don't get involved. And most recently a big-footed, quickly growing puppy. I am an American expat, contentedly exiled in West Yorkshire- the ancient kingdom of Elmet, land of Ted hughes, Sylvia Plath, the Brontes, and the Pennine hills. |
