Introduction	I am a civil rights advocate. After being convicted as a sex offender I served nearly six years in a State prisons, I know first hand what goes no behind the walls... I believe I have something valuable to say on both issues. I have a strong desire to change my life and move forward as a productive member of society as do a majority of my fellow inmates. But our present governmental system makes it difficult if not impossible for convicted offenders of all kinds to move forward with their lives. Many of my fellow inmates continue to be subjected to a department of government that is out of control and that continues to promote demeaning and unproductive treatment of its charges, ignoring its Constitutional mandate. It is easy to hide but that gets us no where, we become merely a world of strangers. I also believe it is time for real not just financial reform in the DOC. It's time to hold our government responsible for sustaining the law themselves instead of just castigating those in their charge.
