About Me
David Hall is a self-taught cook who writes and educates on the subject of food. After reaching the final of BBC’s MasterChef Goes Large in 2007, David realised that what really made him tick was uncomplicated, simple and honest food, the kind of food that anybody with the most basic of skills could achieve with a little self-belief and will. David now helps to inspire people to achieve what they want through his educational food demonstrations. Renowned for his approachable, entertaining and natural style, David has worked extensively and taught thousands throughout the UK at farmer’s markets, agricultural shows, schools and food festivals. As a freelance food writer for newspapers, national magazines and websites such as Olive, Tastes of Britain, Flavour, Times Online and Accent as well as a weekly slot on BBC Radio Newcastle, David writes articles and recipes and speaks to people in the way that makes it all seem so fun, simple and achievable. David is a proud member of The Guild of Food Writers and is currently working on his first book. He has recently won the Observer Food Monthly award for best reader's recipe.
