Roger Yates

About Me

I am a lecturer in sociology at University College Dublin, Ireland and at the University of Wales, Bangor. I teach critical and social theory, social change, and the sociology of humour. I have also taught courses on social movements, the environment, and protest, using the US and British animal protection movements as case studies. I completed my Ph.D on Human-Nonhuman Relations in 2004. Most recent publication: 2009: 'Rituals of Dominionism in Human-Nonhuman Relations: Bullfighting to Hunting, Circuses to Petting' in Journal of Critical Animal Studies, vol 7(1).
