About me

Gender Female
Location Santa Cruz, California, United States
Introduction Lived in Japan, Thailand and Germany. I was married to a German national now an ex, I stayed ten years, half as a single woman. My daughter is a native speaker of German and attends the University in Santa Barbara, Ca. When the portrait passed into my hands, it was famed because my mother’s dog Sophie used to look up at it and when the light was just right, bark at it. Thats how good Stuart’s portraiture is! I have been priviledged to determine and sleuth its history; Samuel Meeker, how I am related to him and how the portrait passed through the generations. It is somewhat of a miracle that it never went up in flames or down in an earthquake! I believe it left Rahway NJ sometime in the beginning of the 20ieth cen and its first Ca home was Fresno. It intrigues me to have this fellow as a relative. Blue blood from back east. That is somethun’ for a 6th generation California girl. I attempted to visit Meeker’s estate Fountain Green on the Schuylkill, but there are only trees there now. It burned down from a locomotive spark. The neighboring estate, Mount Pleasant still exists, and I believe there is a statue on its grounds.... that might have come from Fountain Green.
