Introduction How can we get more dogs out of the shelters and turn them into productive members of society? How can a devoted dog parent feed themselves and their dog eco-friendly food on a budget? After almost five years of life with my beloved dog friend, Merlyn, I've come to the conclusion that I've actually developed four extra legs and a bushy wagging tail. Life with a dog is as much about never taking anything too seriously as it is about how we have gotten to where we are in our evolution largely because of the many services canines provide. Now that I'm back in my favorite state and getting ready for the grad school application process, I also embark on a journey to discover how much dogs can actually make life on this radically changing planet so much better and more uplifted. If I could find a way to help shelter dogs AND native populations, then I'd have my academic career set.
