Introduction Neil Pariser has more than 30 years of experience at the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SoBRO). SoBRO is an economic development organization established in 1972 to reverse the trend of economic deterioration in the South Bronx. In the past 35 years, SoBRO has played a key role in the re-emergence of the South Bronx as an economic engine of New York City. Mr. Pariser is responsible for planning and implementing physical development projects, conceptualizing economic development strategies and coordinating all industrial, commercial and housing development activities undertaken by the corporation. Mr. Pariser formerly worked as a planner with the New York City Department of City Planning prior to his coming to SoBRO. In that capacity, he was project direct for the development of Fordham Plaza, a project designed to establish a major retail and office anchor at Third Avenue and Fordham Road in the Bronx. He is the founder and President of the Port Morris Local Development Corporation, a membership organization of over 150 businesses located in the New York State Economic Development and Federal Empowerment Zones.
