Introduction Jacki is especially fond of anyone who can shoot spaghetti out of their nose or do similarly ridiculous things at a moments notice. Currently she is enjoying her midlife crisis. Among other things, she' a Wife, a Lover, a Mother, a Rebel-Redneck-Bunny Hugging-Alaskan-American and five-time Granny award winner. After twenty some years, she is still totally in LOVE with her man! She's crazy about her friends and (nuts) her family-or is that they make her nuts? Jacki is also a humor columnist and a frequent contributor to her children’s baby books. Her most recent works of fiction include: Why Santa Needs Low Fat Cookies, Lectures From the Tooth Fairy and Why My Child Was Late to School for the Thirty Seventh Time This Year. Her nonfiction works have landed in several servings of New York Times best selling books, in magazines, on the walls of the classiest rest areas throughout Alaska and Canada --and a few have landed in the trash. Voted least likely to alphabetize her spice rack, Alaska-womom regularly admits, “Yes, we live here, our house always looks like this.” It should also be mentioned that she has great cuticles!

Favorite Movies Patch Adams, Dead Poet's Society, Hope Floats, Mr. Holland's Opus, The Notebook, The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio, A Beautiful Mind, Something's Got to Give, 27 Dresses, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, It's a Wonderful Life- all the classic Christmas cartoons and Disney movies, October Sky, Shrek, the Incredibles, Under the Tuscan Sun... *Television.... A necessary evil. An old homesteader once commented that he did not believe that the toilet or the TV. belonged in the house. I am not fond of outhouses and I do admit to a weakness for Comedy Central(especially Blue Collar Comedy) and the news-often one and the same.... We are sort of nerdy around here so the science and history channel are on often. The computer and iPod get a lotta use.
Favorite Music Rock and roll, old and new. Some classic, most of the blues, a whole lotta blue grass, many old hymns and contemporary soulish stuff, alternative, a little bit-o country, a little bit of world music. From fiddles to far out and folksy...it is all good and it all depends on my mood. I haven't met much music I don't like. Like Larry Norman says though, "Heavy metal IS bad, but it would be better if they practiced."
Favorite Books Where to start...? An eclectic list...The Shack, The Secret Life of Bees, If you Lived Here I'd Know Your Name, Next Thing on My List, Hands of My Father, The Writer's Group, Confessions of a Slacker Mom, Kiss my Tierra, Grapes of Wrath and East of Eden, Tuesday's With Morrie and all of Alboms's stuff ... Anything by: Jody Piccoult, Anne Lamott, Billie Collins, Amy Tan, Laurie Notaro, Frank Peretti ...I'll add to the list as time goes on...Want to read more of the Sweet Potato Queen adventures-so many books-so litle time. I Love good historic fiction. Always open for good book reccomendations*

Try making up the rules to a game where you tie knots in a yo-yo string just to see if you can get them out:

Silverware? Why do I have to use silverware? Pass the fried chicken and jo-jo's please.
