Introduction | I have been painting watercolors for 30 years while working as a graphic designer. My formal art training was at The Art Institute of Boston and Vesper George School of Art, also in Boston, MA. Between art schools I spent four years with the U. S. Submarine Service. Spending so much time under water gives a deeper appreciation of weather of all kinds. Workshops with Robert Douglas Hunter, Davis Carroll, George Shedd, Tony Couch, Tom Lynch and at the Illustrator's Workshop (Buffalo, NY) have given me great insight into the methods these artists employ. The subject matter in my paintings varies, but I always try to create a sense of air and space. I enjoy the challenge of painting watercolors, the no-turning-back aspect of it, the permanence of the paint. Anyway...just a brief profile. |
