| Introduction | Lonesome Liz, (Elizabeth Bissette), studied religion & philosophy at WKU with a minor in Fine Art. She incorporates spiritual themes in her music & writing, which includes adaptations of 'Faust' & 'No Exit'. Her visual art draws from religious traditions of the American South, Folk & Proto-Renaissance. She's been part of shows that included Bob Masse, Wes Freed, Pat MacDonald, Jesco the Dancing Outlaw, Molly Crabapple & related artists. Liz has directed & performed in dozens of theater productions, from NC to Chicago. A comedian & film actress too, she appeared in the Baxter Avenue Film Festival & spent several years as a member of the Comedy Caravan's house improv troupe in Louisville. Liz came on the Alt Country & Fine Art scenes as writer. Over the past few years, her interviews & features have ranged from Mike Seeger to New York's hottest, hippest artists. She's currently working on adaptations of 'Beowulf' & the 1930s Pulp character, 'The Purple Scar' for Airship 27 Publishing. A singer/songwriter & rhythm guitarist, Liz also plays a little banjo & mandolin. |
