About Me
I’m a writer, a mom, a wife, a shutterbug, a bookworm, a blowhard, a black sheep, an open-minded agnostic, a reluctant existentialist, a champion of underdogs, a collector of absurdities, a gadfly, a birthday candle wisher, a bliss-follower and a long-winded rambler. My professional background? The usual time in training wheels as a student/waitress/temp -- and then around 16 years as a freelance writer in advertising, marketing, film promotion, ghostwriting, educational and instructional materials, financial newsletters, and entirely too much internet content, website branding and copywriting. (Oh, and the occasional publication to make me feel like a real literary type.) I learned to shoot pictures on an old Yashica TLR, spent hours in my high school darkroom, more hours with 16mm film and 3/4 inch videotape in college and decades playing around with my 35mm SLR -- until I dropped it in a lake. Now, I'm learning the wonders of the digital sensor.
If you were a pirate, how would you avoid laughing when saying 'poop deck'?
I am a pirate. And there is nothing funny about my poop deck.
