Introduction | A Buyer’s/Leaser’s Broker: The seller/landlord always has a broker working on their behalf. You should always have a broker working on your behalf, too. When you approach a property to purchase or lease on your own you are dealing with the seller or landlord’s agent. Their job is to protect the interests of their customer, the seller or the landlord and get them the best price and deal. My job as a buyer’s/leaser’s broker is to protect your interests as a buyer or leaser. I do that by representing you and acquiring information about the marketplace and your targeted property and negotiating with the seller or landlord’s agent to protect your best interests. In this way you gain value in acquiring your home. The New York State Department of State clearly defines the roles of buyer’s and seller’s agent.
