About me

Introduction As an instructional designer, I assist faculty and staff with the development of online and hybrid courses, flipped classrooms, and the effective use of the active learning classrooms found on the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire (UWEC) campus. This is a new role for me on campus; I spent four and a half years as an assistant professor, teaching economics full time. My experiences as an educator are often useful as I listen to the needs and wants of the faculty that I work with, both inside of the classroom and out. My "free time" used to be devoted to tracking down ideas for student engagement, designing classroom activities, and investigating the intersection of technology and effective teaching - now I am lucky enough to be able to focus on these things full time. Many of the posts included in this blog originate from a question or an idea posed by someone on the UWEC campus (thank you!) and rely on the likelihood that someone else may, someday, have a similar question or want some more info about a similar idea. All of the opinions expressed in this blog are my own and do not necessarily represent the views and opinions of the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
