About me

Introduction When debt, babies and line cook's salaries all come together, it doesn't leave a whole lot on the dinner plate sometimes. This is a day to day sketch of how we get by on a very minimal food budget, the experiments, successes and failures, while still keeping our priorities in check. We think growing some of our food and making things at home that most people buy as a convenince, such as sauces, bread and pasta, leaves room to purchase the things that are more important. For us, those are things like good milk and natural, local meats and vegetables. Someday we'd like to work up to having some land and the resources to do and make more for ourselves. Here is the beginning of our family on less than a city acre. Hopefully you'll see how it all contributes to a system that is not wasteful and finds a use for everything.
