About Me

I suppose I can say that I grew up with the artistic gene. All the women in my family have had the gift of creativity. Since I can remember I was always drawing, painting and creating things with paper, glue, tape, markers...what ever I could get my hands on. My Grandmother was always soo inspiring. She is still one of the most creative people I know. Always busy making something. (if only I had her baking skills) As an adult I have spent the last 15+ years working as a professional make-up artist.(painting faces)I finally decided I wanted to get back into "making" something artistic. In 2001 Mikiye Creations was born.

Interests

• I have always LOVED to draw. Graphite is my favorite medium
• however
• I have always wanted to truly paint in oils. As a child I was told that I had a gift...however
• in my adult life I was starting to feel stifled from not really being able to express it. I began making accessories for my hair when I couldn't find fresh flowers to buy on a daily basis. Soon after I started to explore making jewelry as a hobby. The more skilled I became the more I really enjoyed seeing the finished pieces. Friends and family have been very supportive and give me strength to continue to design jewelry as more then a hobby. I am still learning something new all the time. I am at a point in my life that I hope to get back to other avenues towards creative bliss.
