About Me

I spend the daylight hours as the strategic planning and writing partner of a boutique communications firm. In the early mornings, I write. I've had the good fortune, since I began publishing ten years ago, of being named a National Book Award finalist, an NEA grant winner, a Pew Fellowships in the Arts recipient, a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts winner, a Leeway Foundation award winner, the author of a Book Sense pick, and a Speakeasy Poetry Prize winner. UNDERCOVER and HOUSE OF DANCE were both named to the Kirkus Best Young Adult Books of the Year list (2007 and 2008 respectively) and to the Bank Street best lists.
