| Introduction | Aloha from the Pacific Rim International Conference on Disabilities organizing team; Charmaine Crockett, conference Co-chair, and her co-workers, Genesis Leong and Michael Corlew. Working for the Center on Disability Studies at the University of Hawaii, we organize the annual Pacific Rim International Conference on Disabilities that draws over a thousand participants each year to partake in hundreds of presentations dealing with diverse disability related issues. In addition we organize the annual Pacific Rim International Forum on Disability Rights that brings together leading thinkers, policymakers and activists from around the world to promote disability rights at local, national and international levels using the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Our Purpose: This blog is intended to share information regarding disability rights and the CRPD. As time goes on we will have guest writers who have expertise in various aspects of disability rights and studies.
