Introduction	A BILINGUAL EXPERIMENT IN EXTREME DETACHMENT PARENTING. I'm an American, married to a Japanese husband, with a son, a daughter and another son. In the summer of 2009, after 4 years living in San Francisco, we moved back to Tokyo from whence we came in 2005, shortly before I began this blog -- hence the title. No matter where we go or what we do, we always seem to be homesick for something. Our older son is now at a boarding school in NY, which I suppose is the logical next step of the "detachment parenting" I try to practice. [DISCLAIMER: I am a journalist, but this is my personal blog, and all opinions are entirely my own.]
