Introduction I enlisted in the Air Force in 1980 at the age of 22 upon the suggestion of my Father, a Navy veteran. At the time of enlistment I was already an award winning photographer. On January 10th, 1991, I deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. The experiences of being in the military and deploying to the war zone profoundly changed me. In 1992, I was honorably discharged and went to college. I have a B.A. degree in Anthropology and Women's Studies. I am a published author and published/award winning photographer, including an Honorable Mention with the National Geographic. My photography has now been internationally published on the cover (and insert pages) of two books: "Cost of Freedom: Anthology of Peace and Activism" AND "War Fever Syndrome" by Masako Usui. My book about Desert Storm was published through the Veterans Book Project and art from my Combat Paper Project has been shown in 4 shows. My story has been published in 2 other books, 3 plays and in 3 documentaries. I now advocate for the healing of veterans through art, music, writing, theater, equine therapy, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, massage and other healing programs and institutions.
