Introduction Cathie Bleck, an internationally respected artist, known for her distinctive works in scratchboard and kaolin clay board, involving a process similar in concept to woodblock printing whereby she carves through inks and kaolin pigments into white kaolin clay. Bleck’s work was featured in two solo museum exhibitions in 2008; The New Britain Museum of American Art in Connecticut and The Butler Museum in Youngstown, Ohio. She has exhibited and lectured on her work world wide. A monograph of Bleck's work entitled "Open Spaces" was released in 2006, which is in the Library of Congress. Recently, her work was selected from 600 female artists in the collection of the New Britain Museum of American Art entitled "Women Artists at New Britain". http://www.cathiebleck.com
