| Introduction | Hi, My name is Lisa and I created, blog.HypoGal.com to write about topics that the chronically ill experience.You can read about my rare disease Sheehan's Syndrome at www.HypoGal.com. Sheehan's syndrome is caused by severe blood loss during or after childbirth. Blood loss during and post childbirth can be particularly damaging to the pituitary gland. The loss of blood to the pituitary gland may destroy hormone-producing tissue. When necrosis of the pituitary gland occurs the pituitary may lose some or all of its function. I had hemorrhaged during the birthchild of my first daughter. The blood loss caused my pituiatary to slowly loss function. It has been a very long road to finding the proper medical treatment.
