| Introduction | I have been a librarian for more than 40 years. I have worked in public libraries, school libraries, and college libraries. I leaped into computers back when I needed to learn DOS to use them. I embraced Windows when it was developed and learned to surf the Internet very early on. Now I find myself having to make many other leaps to keep up with new technology. I use my Kindle, my MP3, my ZUNE, my cell phone. I'm learning to blog and Flickr, and Twitter, and socialize on Facebook. But I still have shelves of books in every room in my house. I'm still reading them! Now that I'm retired, I'm catching up on some reading -- My other plans are on hold for a little while, this summer's too hot! |
