| Introduction | I'm the oldest guy allowed on this site. I've been a teacher for almost fifty years (about 12,500 students, 4000 meetings, 78,000 papers graded) but what is more impressive and my greatest accomplishment is that I have one wife, Helen, for even longer than I've been a teacher. St. Russell (Kirk) and St. Gerhart (Niemeyer) mentored me, and that's serious name-dropping. Here's the only other bragging point: I gave up a tenured teaching job in 1975 to move to a little midwestern college that had no money and was about to take on the federales. So you can see, I'm loyal but pretty dumb. |
