About me

Location Tucson, AZ, United States
Introduction You can sum up a bit about my inspirations with a quote from my namesake/hero, Margaret Mead: "If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place."
Interests I am inspired by kind, honest people who find their own way. I am in awe of people who can make others laugh. I like to live life fully, even if I embarrass myself. The desert is my home and I love it immensely. I enjoy dirt, colors, framing life into photographs, breezes, salty foods, the smell of mesquite blossoms, teas that taste like earth and twigs, rolling and pedaling on a bike, and watching my pups "get" each other among other things in life... I love the people and animals in my life... they are everything to me. My spirit is livened by connection to nature and my souls by the belief in the goodness of humanity. My interests...In spring: watching my garden grow, resting on the hammock on a warm day, discovering dog friendly wildflower trails, sunshiny mornings. In summer: riding bikes along the Rillito to the water park and daring each other to run under the water buckets and riding home nice and cool and soaked. Watching birds and bats, spying on rattlesnakes, geckos living in my compost and eating off my porch lights, lizards in the railroad ties, massive lizards and zebra tails, siestas, humming birds and stilt legged birds, cranes especially. Respados on a hot day, make that all summer long. Drivey-drives around the mountain. Making trips to visit friends. In fall: sleeping through the dark mornings, feeling the cool nights in the desert, watching leaves change on the mountain. In winter: cross county skiing, pagan holidays, getting cozy, being a hermit, starry nights, making wishes. In general: Watching Lucy run. Making up quotes for dogs since they don't say it out loud themselves in English. Hiking, Walks around the neighborhood or to coffee, having outspoken friends who amuse me with their comments, coffee shops, gardening, swimming holes, good movies, bikes, dancing. Art with Nature, painting, water harvesting, reading, politics, environmentalism, traveling to new towns, speaking German, crafty-craft nights.
