Years of research, five wonderful weeks of hosting a boy from Russia, and 8 months pursuing his adoption resulted in a closed door. I turned to domestic (US) older child adoption and, after 10 months of searching, I was matched with a wonderful 10-year-old boy, Slugger. He is my open window... and I am his.
