| Introduction | Laura was acclaimed by BroadwayWorld.com as both "a gifted comedienne" and "a fine singer with an outstanding range and genuine wit." Her debut CD, "Keep It To Yourself," will be out in May, 2011. It features great songs from the '20s to today, and is produced and arranged by her longtime partner, jazz pianist extraordinare Brian Piper, with guest appearances by some of the top jazz musicians in Texas. Laura has appeared on numerous radio and TV shows, her own Dallas Comcast cable special, the Dallas and Las Vegas Comedy Festivals, the Arkansas Governor's Manion and many other venues. Laura grew up watching her dad, late big band sax icon Billy Ainsworth, back such idols as Ella Fitzgerald and Tony Bennett. She followed him into jingle and corporate productions and won the ITVA Golden Reel Award. She and husband Pat Reeder co-write The Comedy Wire (www.comedy-wire.com), a daily topical radio service, making her one of the most-quoted, least-credited funny women on Earth. Her parody songs have been heard on morning shows worldwide. Check out www.lauraainsworth.com for earlier blog entries, videos and other fun stuff. |
