| 紹介 | John gained a degree in Constructed Textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Scotland. He has a wide working knowledge of the history of European textile design, decoration and craft and its development into the twentieth century. He is now a full time writer and copy editor. Since 2008 he has been producing The Textile Blog, a daily insight into all aspects of the history of printed, woven and knitted textiles, as well as carpet, rug, tapestry, quilting, embroidery, lace, wallpaper and ornamental and decorative work. Through the blog he seeks to place an emphasis on the designer, artist and craftsperson as a single, multi-disciplined and even cross-disciplined creative. The creative process, the connections and the journey itself are all part of the complex world of the individual textile artist, designer and crafts person. The Textile Blog has now expanded to include daily updates of current exhibitions around the world, a comprehensive flickr library of textile images, as well as a presence on both facebook and twitter. |
