About Me

I grew up in the No.VA in Falls Church, went to Marshall High School near Tysons Corner Mall and graduated from there a long time ago! I went to an awesome church growing up called Christian Assembly and was a part of a youth ministry that really helped me understand what it meant to live out your faith in everyday life. I became a volunteer jr. high youth pastor when I was a freshman in college and went through an internship as a Youth Pastor the summer of my sophomore year. In my Senior year of College at George Mason I became the youth pastor at a church in Chantilly, VA. I met Missy that same year and we got married when we graduated college. We have three awesome kids now Maggie, Justin and Zach. In 2001 I moved to VA Beach, VA and attended Regent University to get my Masters in Practical Theology with a concentration in mentoring and worship. I currently serve as Assoc. Pastor over Youth and Worship at Horizons church and absolutely love it! It's so good to be in a place where God is at work. I love spending time with our kids here at Horizons sharing my passion of worship, passing that on to the next generation.

When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?

Never, I always open my eyes in the water even in the ocean. I have always felt at home in the water because as long as I can remember my family took beach vacations in the summers so I feel like being in the water is second nature.
