About Me

I am 46 and mom to 3 boys. I started taking pictures before I was 10. My cameras were a 1939 Rolleiflex DLR, a Voitlander Besa L Rangefinder, a Pentacon Practika LTL SLR in 73, an Olympus something or other SLR in 79, Minolta XD5 in 81. We had a darkroom in the basement where I spent quite a bit of time as a kid. Jay Smith, Senior Combat Photojournalist for the First Infantry Div. covering Saigon and North Saigon in 68-69, was my teacher for 2 years. He was amazing. He died tragically several years ago when he drowned while fishing in Round Valley; ironically, the place I went shooting for the first time with a DSLR when I decided to get back into photography. I had forgotten about that until several weeks after the shoot. I made little time for photography while raising my boys. Now that they are pretty much grown and leaving the nest I have picked up the camera once again. My wonderful husband got me my first digital camera, an Olympus E300 DSLR, for our anniversary in 2005. I currently shoot with Nikon D700 and a Nikon D200. I have a variety of lenses and studio equipment.
