About Me

I grew up in Detroit. I'm fan of the Detroit Lions, so I know pain. My Mother came to the U.S. as a War Bride after World War II. I know I am lucky to have been born in the 50's in Detroit. My father was a good humored welder from Pennsylvania. His best piece of advise, do NOT work in the factories. I learned to really read in the Detroit Experimental Reading Program. It was an optional 6th grade reading class, and it changed my life. Good books and lots of them can do that for a kid. The day I learned of the class, I felt I needed a challenge. I signed up; lucky me. The year I graduated from Wayne State, the country was in a recession (like now) & Motown was in a depression (like now). Chrysler was nearly bankrupt (like now)... not so lucky. I steered toward a safer profession… accounting rather than chemistry. I started in public accounting knowing nearly nothing of the job. I was a lucky that the profession turned out to be a good fit, and I had terrific mentors. Thirty tax seasons later, public accounting is still a good fit. And it is time give back. Hopefully, one way will be sharing my tax prep experience with 100,000,000 taxpayers or maybe a few thousand.
