About me

Introduction In the three decades that I have fished with the fly, I have had the opportunity to enjoy the waters from Alaska to Key West, with the majority of it spent on little brook trout streams in my home state of Vermont, and the beaches of Cape Cod chasing stripers. With a few exceptions, my fishing has been done with my two feet planted firmly in the lithosphere. That's the way I like it. Boats and boating simply isn't "my thing". Fully realizing that there are places that will remain out of reach for the wading angler, I'll counter that fishing from a boat is kind of like farming from the seat of a tractor, you miss so much of what is going on in the surrounding environs. It's a quality versus quantity thing, at least for me and those that I fish with. So welcome fellow bank maggots, this is a place to read, watch and write about fishing on foot.
