| Introduction | My riding has taken back seat to my family and my career, like most adults. I now teach full-time and my career is blessedly stable, but I still operate on the "binge" style with my job, myself, and my riding. I ride in the summer, then when school starts, it tapers off to nothing, while I put in longer and longer hours at school. Then, when summer vacation starts, I throw myself back into riding. You get the picture. Now, at the age of 52, my body no longer is willing to suddenly shift gears. I am also concerned about the costs of this on my horse. Sustainability is becoming a cliche word but it is something that I think I could a little more of. So, that is now my goal. With my riding, my job, and my life. |
