I was born in Virginia, and graduated from Longwood in '82 with a BFA in studio art. I have a husband, also a Longwood grad, two kids, two cats, hundreds of fish, and a turtle. I volunteer at the local Clay Guild, where it seems I spend all of my spare time.

Which is more important to you and why: flexibility or expandability?

Well, throwing clay on the wheel, you need both!

• Currently almost done with the Terry Goodkind series
• recently finished all of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time that he has published. I really am a big Charles DeLint fan
