| Introduction | I retired in 2004 spending over 30 years in the hotel business. I worked for Omni Hotels (1972-1982), Ritz-Carlton Hotels (1982-1996), and was a hospitality consultant and partner in the development of small,luxury limited service hotels. I was an operator specializing in marketing and sales. A noteable period in my career was as GM of The Ritz-Carlton,Naples (1984-1996). I was responsible for the successful opening of the hotel (a significant catalyst in the growth of the RC Hotel company) and achieving the coveted Mobil 5 Star and AAA 5 Diamond ratings as early as the awards could be bestowed on a new resort property. In addition, as Regional Vice President I was responsible for the successful opening of numerous Ritz-Carltons in Florida, Mexico, Australia, Hong Kong and Seoul, Korea. Overall,during my career I participated in the opening of over 40 hotels. I live in a beautiful farming area outside of Charlottesville, Va on 8 acres of mountain- side property across from the Blue Ridge Mountains and Skyline Drive. My best friend and wife Star is with me as well as our newest family member Bentley, a labradoodle and a great little guy. Life is Good! |
