About Me

I start my day with a hot cup of coffee, while I read and journal. Sometimes I will follow this up with either yoga or Tai Chi Chuan, both of which contribute to my well-being. I enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking and backpacking in the Fall and Spring, surfing in the Summer, and snow-boarding in the Winter; these help me celebrate the beauty of nature. I have BS('89) and MS('91) degrees in electrical engineering from KU, and currently develop Java/C++ object-oriented software. I am finding a greater need for meaning, contribution and connection in my life. One of the ways in which I get these needs met is through serving once a month at an orphanage in Mexico with my "ekklesia" community. Another is by facilitating nonviolent communication (NVC) workshops and practice groups. I have been practicing NVC since 2002. I am passionate about living in connection with the creator, people, and myself. I follow Christ and strive to live the good news, seeking connection, authenticity, freedom, truth, meaning, integrity, to contribute, justice, acceptance, mutuality, beauty, peace, harmony and understanding from a heart of compassion.
