About Me

was born in Ireland to James R. and May (Beveridge) McLoughlin who moved to Canada when Barry was five years old. He decided to go with them. While studying journalism and mass communications at Carleton University he broke into television (late one night) writing and performing in a number of television series from comedy to information to variety programs. After graduating from Carleton University, Barry earned his Masters of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. For three years he worked as a communications adviser in the Government of Canada and then co-founded McLoughlin Media in 1984 with his partner, Laura Peck, whom he married in 1986, as he is no fool. They have three children - Caroline, Brendan and Liam. He is a media junkie, spends his off-hours writing screenplays and loves golf. One day, golf may love him back.
