Introduction I am a Retinal Specialist. I began with an interest in complex retinal detachments and the development of new techniques in order to make inoperable cases treatable. These included a number of poor prognosis pediatric retinal diseases. These interests lead to research in ROP and related conditions. Now I am extremely engaged in all aspects of pediatric retina. After many years as a professor at UIC I became a partner in a private practice in suburb of Chicago. I still perform a large number of both adult and pediatric retina operations and the majority of complex pediatric retina in this region. Most of the surgery is done at Lutheran General Hospital. I also do some work at Children’s' Memorial Hospital and University of Illinois Hospital. I listed some of the conditions in the interest section.
Interests Retinopathy of Prematurity, Retinoblastioma, Coats Disease, Congenital Anomolies, Stickler Disease, Persistent Fetal Vascular Syndrome (PHPV), Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy, Hamartoma, PVR, Trauma, Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy, Coats Disease.
