| Introduction | I studied theology under Colin Gunton, before being mentored by Lesslie Newbigin. (As such, I might be best described as a post-critical Evangelical – à la Lesslie – in the tradition of Evangelical Calvinism – following this kind of thing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Evangelical-Calvinism-Resourcing-Continuing-Reformation/dp/1608998576.) I blog about everything from work to relationships, and death to resurrection. This is because one way of thinking about holistic mission, or whole-life discipleship, is as prophet, priest, and king. KINGS represent God to the world. Therefore, since we become what we worship [Jeremiah 2:5], kings must worship God in order to represent him well. Conversely, PRIESTS make the world presentable to God. By doing so, they prepare this world for resurrection. As such, PROPHETS witness to the work of God in the world through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. |
