About Me
I was born in Ritzville WA in 1954 and moved to the family farm in third grade. Following HS attended WSU where I met my future wife, graduating in Agricultural Education and biology. Taught Ag and math in Ellensburg for 3 years. My first two days of work the teachers union struck and I took the advice of my WSU advisor to not make waves and didn’t show up the first day. I wasn’t very political in those days and not working bothered me deeply so I worked the second day. I found I didn’t agree with any political activities of the union and dropped them at the end of the year. Teaching was a love/hate sort of job and hating it won. So I became foreman for metal and concrete fabrication company in Ellensburg, business exploded then the effects of the Carter years came falling down. We went from 14 employees to one and I was out. So it was back to WSU (there were no jobs) to get a PhD, I completed my masters in plant physiology, learned a lot about computers, decided I didn’t want to do what PhDs do and have been in computing ever since.
